The Sally Lightfoot crab (Grapsus grapsus) is definitely one of the most colourful inhabitants of the Galapagos Islands. Although they are relatively easy to photograph I was very surprised by how skittish most of them were. This is unlike almost all the other animals in the Galapagos Islands that have absolutely no fear of humans. This large photo is not some fancy colour and black and white conversion, just a colourful crab on black lava. It’s certainly an interesting effect.
